There comes a moment where the clutter can no longer be ignored. Not just the piles in the corner or the overflowing inbox — but the spiritual clutter we try to pray around and push past.
This June, I’ve been sensing God’s invitation loud and clear:
It’s time to Rest, Reset, and Obey.
And it starts by clearing the mess — in both the natural and the spiritual.
1. Rest: Let the Chaos Settle
Sometimes we’re too busy doing to realize we’re overwhelmed by what we’ve allowed to pile up. Rest is more than sleep — it’s surrender. It’s stepping back from the noise and choosing stillness so you can actually hear God’s voice again.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
You can’t receive peace when you’re surrounded by chaos. And you can’t hear God clearly when clutter is crowding your spirit. Resting allows the dust to settle — physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
2. Reset: Clean the Room, Clear the Mind
As you rest, it becomes clear what needs to shift. That junk drawer you’ve ignored? That mindset that’s no longer aligned with your purpose? That habit that’s slowly draining your joy? Decluttering is a prophetic act of realignment. God often won’t send the new while the old is taking up space.
This month, try this:
• Reset your space: Clear out physical clutter that’s weighing on you.
• Reset your spirit: Journal through what’s been distracting you. Repent. Release.
• Reset your schedule: Make room for margin, for silence, for worship.
A reset isn’t about perfection — it’s about creating room for God to move.
3. Obey: Let Go & Let God In
When God says, “Let that go,” it’s not punishment — it’s preparation. Obedience is a form of trust. Decluttering in obedience says: “God, I don’t need to hold onto what You’re asking me to release. I trust that Your way is better. I trust that letting go is making room for breakthrough.” Sometimes the reason we feel stuck isn’t because we aren’t praying — it’s because we haven’t obeyed. Obedience is the final sweep that brings full alignment.
Let This Be Your Prayer This Month:
“Lord, help me rest in You. Reset my thoughts, my space, and my spirit. Give me the courage to obey when You say ‘clean it out’ —even if I’ve grown used to the mess. I make room for You in my heart and my home. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
Decluttering is spiritual. Order invites overflow.
This month, don’t just clean your space — clean your pace. Don’t just throw things out — lay them down.
Rest. Reset. Obey.
God is doing something new — and it starts with a clear space and a willing heart.
