My Identity in Christ- The Truth that Anchors Me

There was a time in my life when I didn’t really know who I was.

I knew what people called me.

I knew what I had been through.

I knew what I wasn’t.

But I didn’t truly know what God said about me — or if I even believed it.

The world told me I had to look a certain way, achieve certain things, and prove my worth.

But that kind of identity is fragile. It shifts with opinions. It crumbles under pressure.

And honestly? It left me tired, discouraged, and disconnected.

But something powerful began to change when I turned my eyes — and my heart — to Jesus.

What God Says Is Final

The moment I said yes to Christ, a new identity was spoken over me.

Not one I earned — but one I received.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

— 2 Corinthians 5:17

This verse doesn’t say, “You’ll become new after you fix everything.”

It says, you are new — right now.

In Christ, I am chosen.

I am loved.

I am forgiven.

I am free.

I am called.

I am whole — even when I don’t feel like it.

This is my identity. This is my anchor.

I Don’t Live for Acceptance — I Live From It

One of the biggest shifts I’ve experienced is this:

I no longer have to hustle for acceptance.

I already have it in Jesus.

I’ve learned that when you know who you are, you stop being shaken by what you’re not.

You stop competing.

You stop comparing.

You stop compromising.

Instead, you rise. You walk. You flourish.

Still Becoming, Still Anchored

Knowing my identity in Christ doesn’t mean I have all the answers.

But it means I know who holds me together when everything else is falling apart.

Even in the waiting — even in the healing — I am still anchored.

I am still becoming.

And I am still His.

Let This Be Your Reminder Today:

You don’t have to search for who you are.

You don’t have to let shame, failure, or fear define you.

You don’t have to earn love that’s already yours.

You just need to return to the One who created you —

Because the truest version of you is the one rooted in Him.

Your Identity in Christ is Not a Label — It’s Your Foundation.

Walk in it.

Stand on it.

Flourish because of it.
